Besides developing new shavers, Drachten also produces them in the factory that uses cutting-edge production technology to manufacture the latest shavers 24/7. In addition, we produce the OneBlade shaving system since 2016 and parts of several other consumer products. OneBlade is our revolutionary, innovative hybrid styler that can shave, trim and style.

Role in the Project

As a global leader in the manufacturing of mass-produced consumer products, Philips Drachten will supply a use-case revolving around ‘HUMAN – COBOT collaboration improving robust Quality Inspections by Vision’ as pilot demonstrator in a relevant production environment. The results of the STAR project will be deployed and tested on the production line part of this pilot. Philips will be the task leader for this pilot. In order to have a successful deployment, Philips will contribute to the establishment of a vision and specifications for Safe and Human Centric AI in Manufacturing. In addition, Philips will support the development of Human-Robot interactions for active learning as well as Human-Centered Digital Models for AI Systems and Processes. Finally, Philips will contribute to the dissemination activities of the STAR project.
